I <3 My E-Reader
I'm six and a half months pregnant, and I gotta say, the belly is somewhat cramping my formally footloose and fancy free on-the-go lifestyle. But on my last grueling six hour flight from Cali to New York, one handy little technological advancement pretty much spared me the restlessness, aches, pains and attendant miseries of traveling-while-expecting. And that magical device? My trusty e-reader, which would have been just any old boring piece of plastic had I not armed it with Jonathan Franzen's beyond-riveting breakthrough novel of the year Freedom.
I burned through Freedom like an addict on a binge, blissfully reading the entire flight away, with hardly a pause to sip my in-flight bevvie and munch my crappy pretzels. Yes, the book is THAT good, and thanks to the wonders of e-reading technology, I didn't have to lug its entire hardcover 576 pages with me (after all, I'm hauling around enough extra weight on my own these days, thankyouverymuch).
That said, if you are still resisting e-reader technology, and you fly any where, ever, you are totally missing out. I suggest you dip a toe in the e-reader world by putting Amazon's free Kindle ap on your iPhone or Android (you do have a smartphone by now, don't you?). A couple of commutes later, trust me, you'll be hooked.

I've been avoiding the e-readers for so long because I just love the smell of books...but the lug factor is too high with all the traveling I do!
I want to read Freedom too!
