Josephine Courant
Josephine Courant considers herself more of a live experience writer. From the age of 8, Josephine started documenting her life in her journal starting with her trials at British boarding school (picture Harry Potter’s Hogwarts!), and moving to her more interesting travels throughout Europe and Asia. She has been lucky enough to travel all over the world with family and with friends: Dubai and the United Arab Emirates to visit her father, Africa on safari, Malaysia and Indonesia as a backpacking venture with friends after high school, India with her whole family (including grandmother who spoke fluent Hindi), Russia with her brother, Morocco on a school trip and frequent travels throughout Europe. She has logged in many hours at coffee shops, village squares, street corners, documenting her surroundings, the people, their interaction with one another, taking in every detail in her journal and her other faithful friend: her camera.
After settling in San Francisco for 10 years, her passion for documenting her own experiences transitioned from journal and camera to the computer. Using her skills as a web designer and developer, she created an interactive CDROM of her experiences in San Francisco, incorporating audio, video, photos, music, engaging the viewer further into her experiences. Josephine was delighted to join the See Jane Fly team and recognized it as an opportunity to keep writing about what she loves the most: life and travel. After a 10 year love affair with San Francisco, Josephine recently relocated to Boston with her husband/personal chef where she is trying not to concentrate too much on the bad winter weather!
